Strachan admits to Maloney danger


Gordon Strachan admits Celtic are playing a dangerous game after talks to extend Shaun Maloney's deal broke down.

The 23-year-old midfielder made history by being named as both Player and Young Player of the Year by his fellow professionals last season.

But, on Maloney's contract talks, Strachan said: "They are stalling, as they say in the business.

Kennedy closing on Celtic return


Celtic manager Gordon Strachan welcomed the imminent return of John Kennedy but insists the defender will not be rushed back into action.

The 23-year-old has undergone four operations since his left knee was shattered on his Scotland debut against Romania at Hampden in March 2004.

"He's been training and he's looked quite comfortable," said Strachan.

"It's satisfying for me but huge for him that he is returning so we are keeping our fingers crossed."
